At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to child success is the positive involvements of parents.
Parenting or child rearing is the process of promoting and supporting the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of a child from infancy to adulthood.
From Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, we could compare the Dads’ of Simran(Kajol) and Raj(Sharukh Khan)- Simran’s dad was strict who did not even realize his daughter’s feelings, on the other hand, Raj’s dad he was a friend of his son. When a parent becomes a friend of their children, they don’t feel alone, they learn and see positive aspects in everything and every decision they take even if it is wrong, they dare to rectify it.
Family is the base on which everything one even knows rests on. It’s not easy to portray the natural concern and love of parents. But there have been epic actors playing epic roles who managed to shown onscreen all the emotions that came with having children. Despite being a medium to portray and celebrate relationships it would be safer to state that Bollywood has constantly vacillated between being painfully realistic and being extremely imaginative.
There have been movies like Masoom, there depicted somewhat polygamy that defines extramarital affair. But in Masoom, there was no extramarital affair, but the night’s mistake made by DK(Naseeruddin shah) and Bhavana(Supriya Pathak) resulted in a child, Rahul(Jugal Hansraj).
Polygamy destroys a child’s dream.
The difference between the two types of parenting was highly unfolded in the film-
The two sisters(Minni and Pinky) were always happy, carefree to express their feelings, there was no sign of unwillingness or timidity, while for the boy, Rahul afraid to express his feelings, he was always in his world, in search of his parent or father.
Being a parent is hard for anyone. For special needs parents, however, it can be even harder. Parents of a special child as seen in reality or society are disinclined, they are afraid. In the Movie Paa, the child, Auro(Amitabh Bacchan) was affected by the disease ‘progeria’. Progeria is a rare genetic condition that causes a child's body to age fast. Here, the Mom(Vidya Balan) never limited her child from leading a normal life. She never stopped Auro from going to school in spite of restrictions prescribed by the doctor. Parenting shown in Paa has such a level where negative emotions never stopped the Mother to give a normal comfortable life to her one and only child, Auro.
Again, education plays a mighty role in the process of parenting. Parents must provide enough freedom to their children in selecting their stream for their study or for a future profession. Even if the child picks up his or her hobby as a career then parents must allow them to do unlike Dangal, the movie where Mahavir Singh Phogat(Aamir khan) treats his daughters as mere instruments for his ambition, and not as humans in their own right, with their dreams and desires. Being cruel to and forcing one’s dream on their kids is what parents must avoid.
Furthermore, the positive side shown in the movie is a girl is not born or made to cook and give birth to children. She is born to achieve and you need to believe in them and their mettle.
